Vocational Training Program
UpReach is providing a hands-on training program to prepare students for employment. This 20-week program aligns with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act's focus on transition services related to Work-Based Learning, Workplace Readiness, and Self-Advocacy- and will provide students with skills related to animal care in a therapeutic setting. The skills covered in this course are transferable to animal and non-animal care careers and will benefit students in any employment opportunity.
What will students learN?
Interpersonal skills and teamwork
Dependability and reliability
Critical and analytical thinking

Students will be assessed by the instructor and evaluated regarding hard and soft skills and will receive support from skilled work site instructors. Each of the 20-weeks focuses on a specific skill or skill review and time to practice skills is built into each week of the program for review. Formal evaluations of hard and soft skills will be completed throughout the program. Upon completion of the course a competency summary is provided. The 20-week vocational program runs 2-days per week for 2 hours per day and is held in the mornings from 9:30 -11:30 am. The cost is $1,000.
