Welcome to UpReach.

The UpReach mission is dedicated to inspiring hope, fostering independence, and improving the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of individuals with and without disabilities by connecting people with horses in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment.

“A barn is a sanctuary in an unsettled world, a sheltered place where life’s true priorities are clear. When you step back, it’s not just about horses — it’s about love, life, and learning. We honor our horses for their brave hearts, courage, and willingness to give. Indeed, horses have the hearts of warriors and often carry us into and out of fields of personal battles. Those who know them understand how fully a horse can hold a human heart.”
~ Lauren Davis Baker

UpReach seeks to be a peaceful, inspiring and joyful place of belonging for staff, participants, and volunteers. If you want to be part of our barn community, we have a place for you.
We invite you to learn more about UpReach by watching these videos - we look forward to meeting you at the barn soon!

Thank You for Standing With Us

Recently, the UpReach community experienced the unimaginable.
During a particularly windy night, a limb from a Red Maple tree fell into a paddock occupied by three of our beloved miniature horses and one full-sized horse. Curious by nature — especially when it comes to treats and fresh greens — the four friends sampled the newly sprouted leaves, not knowing they are highly toxic to horses.

In the days that followed, we heartbreakingly lost two cherished minis, Quinn and Peppy, to complications from Red Maple toxicity.

In the wake of this loss, programming was paused for two weeks as we focused on providing intensive care for Sky, who remained in critical condition, while closely monitoring Sadie and allowing space for our staff, volunteers, participants, and community to process profound grief. For an organization whose mission is to inspire healing, hope, and joy through the connection between people and horses, this has been a deeply humbling and emotional time.

We are grateful to share that Sadie has shown no signs of illness. Sky remains in guarded condition, but she continues to show encouraging signs of improvement as we carefully support her recovery each day.

Throughout this incredibly difficult chapter, the outpouring of kindness, prayers, compassion, encouragement, and support from our community has meant more than words can express. We are profoundly grateful for every message, every gesture, and every act of generosity extended to the two- and four-legged souls at UpReach.

This NH Gives, we invite you to honor the lives and legacies of Quinn and Peppy, who so generously shared their gentle spirits to help improve the lives of countless individuals who loved and partnered with them.

We also invite you to make a gift in honor of Sky, in support of her continued recovery and in celebration of the healing, hope, and joy she continues to inspire.

And we invite you to honor Sadie — a symbol of strength, resilience, and quiet grace through adversity.

Your support during NH Gives helps ensure that UpReach can continue providing transformative equine-assisted services and compassionate care for the horses who make this life-changing work possible.

Thank you for standing with us, grieving with us, and helping us move forward with hope.
