Fundamentals of the EAGALA Model

Founded in 1999, the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA) is the leading international non-profit association for professionals incorporating horses to address mental health and personal development needs. The EAGALA Model is a distinctive experiential framework designed to allow clients the latitude to discover, learn, and grow from the horse-human relationship. In addition, it involves a team approach of credentialed mental health professional, qualified equine specialist, horses and clients collaboratively working towards treatment or learning goals.
The 5-day Fundamentals of the EAGALA Model Training provides didactic and interactive, hands-on learning experiences that allow participants to leave with an understanding and application of the EAGALA Model.
Participants must attend the entire training for successful completion, which runs from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm from Wednesday, April 25 - Sunday, April 29, 2018. Attending the training does not guarantee successful completion for certification. Participants must be at least 18 years of age or older. No personal pets are allowed on the premises of the facility. with lunches included (please mark dietary restrictions when registering). All participants must sign a Release of Liability form in order to participate. The cost for the course is $2,100.00, with group discounts applying to teams of two or more attendees. Individuals will be working directly with horses and should be wearing appropriate clothing and footwear (closed-toe, closed-heel shoes).
Certification: EAGALA Certification requires successful completion of pre-training online webinar, Fundamentals of the EAGALA Model Practice Training, completing the post-test training online assessment, and submission of a professional development portfolio.
Cancellation Policy: UpReach reserves the right to adjust training dates, times, and faculty to accommodate unforeseen circumstances including cancellation of the course up to two weeks prior to the scheduled start date. UpReach is not responsible for any expenses incurred by registrants due to such adjustments.
Participation cancellation requests must be made in writing no less than two weeks prior to the course start date to receive a refund. No refunds will be given for cancellations received within two weeks prior to the start of the course.
Travel Information: UpReach is located approximately 30 minutes from the Manchester- Boston Regional Airport (MHT) and 60 minutes from Logan International Airport (BOS). Transportation arrangements to and from the facility will need to be made my participants.
